What is Merry Ministries?

Women of all ages are invited to join in a study of the New Testament this fall, starting with the Gospel of John. Merry Ministries meets every Wednesday morning at 9:30 a.m. in the Sanctuary. The inter-denominational women’s bible-study class, Merry Ministries, is led by Mary Willis, an active member of Second Baptist Church in Houston.

For 17 years, Mary has focused on the Bible and not on denominational differences. The group of nearly 200 women includes Methodists, Baptists, Catholics, Presbyterians, Lutherans, Episcopalians, Church of Christ, non-denominationalists and those who are not affiliated with any church. “God has a plan for each woman in our community and it is exciting to come together and discover His plan for our lives,” says Mary. “The Bible has great lessons that are applicable to us today”.

As one member recently said, “It is great to set our denominational differences aside and focus on worshiping, studying the Bible and making friends. Mary’s style of teaching makes the Bible easy to understand, interesting and even humorous.”

“Sanctuary-Safe Childcare” is available for preschoolers, but you must register your child. There is no charge for the class or for childcare.

Starting with a Time of Worship

Each class begins with a time of music, led by Christian recording artist Tricia Zody and pianist Carmen McCullough from the River Pointe Church Band. Tricia recently released a self-titled album (visit www.triciazody.com for details).
