The Way - Student Life Camp 08

Life is a journey full of choices. And everyone is going somewhere. Some take an easy path, the others a road less traveled. One leads to destruction, the other to life. Which way are you going?

People from all ages have had to decide how to deal with this choice. Back in the day- when the church was just getting started -before the word "Christian" was in the picture, people who followed Jesus were simply called "followers of the Way."

The disciples- the ones we know at "the 12," set the pace when they left their boats, nets, families and friends to follow Christ. They were obedient and they exemplified how believers are to follow. And that's how the movement began.

It was radical. And so it was described in Acts 19.23 "About that time there arose a great disturbance about the Way."

What about you? Does your life's direction cause a disturbance? Or are you content to go with the flow? Jesus told the story in Matthew 7.14, "But small is the gate and narrow is the road that leads to life, and only a few find it." He knows the challenge and has provided all we need to follow him.

The initial decision to follow Christ is pivotal without a doubt, but as long as we are in this world we are constantly deciding which nature to feed, what god to serve, which way to go. It's a process.

Student Life at The Beach will provide an opportunity to step back, check the landscape of life across the ages, evaluate where you are and how to walk in The Way today.

What to Expect

Student Life at The Beach is a God-focused experience that allows you the opportunity to worship while enjoying a laid-back beach environment. It brings together with other student groups in corporate settings that are fun-filled, energetic and life changing, but it also provides a lot of time for you to strengthen old relationships and create new ones within our group.

A full day at Student Life at The Beach begins with Morning Celebration, which brings students together to start the day with upbeat music, interactive drama that always involves students, and a word from the camp pastor that gives focus for the day.

Next is free time and small group time with our Student Ministry! It's an opportunity for our student group to spend the day enjoying some of the local attractions or hanging out in the sand and surf. We will also use this time to grow closer to each other as friends and Christians.

In the evening, everybody comes together again for Corporate Worship. It's a time for hearts and minds to focus on God through music, drama that is relevant, and a message that is full of truth, impact and meaning.

Late Nite follows with student participation, loud music, crazy games, daily videos, and student minister challenges that all combine to create an atmosphere made for energy and excitement!

When? Where? and how much?

Student Life at The Beach is June 26-30 in South Padre Island. The cost is $350 per student and a $50 deposit is required by May 11.
