Fred & Stacy Vanderwerf

The Rev. Fred Vanderwerf and his wife Stacy, are missionaries of the General Board of Global Ministries of The United Methodist Church assigned to Ukraine. Based in L'viv, their responsibilities include university student ministry development.

Fred, a Minnesota native, graduated from high school in 1988 and earned a B. A. degree in psychology in 1992 from North Central College in Naperville, Illinois. He earned his M. Div. degree in 1999 from Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, Kentucky where he was also a teaching assistant in the school's E. Stanley Jones School of World Mission.

Rev. Vanderwerf served in 1997 as a summer intern with the United Methodist Church of Kerch, Ukraine as youth minister and associate pastor. A clergy member of the Minnesota Annual Conference, he was commissioned as probationary elder in 1999. He is married to Stacy Stone Vanderwerf, also a GBGM missionary.

Stacy, a native of Amarillo, Texas, grew up in Midland and earned a B. S. degree in human development/family studies in 1995 from Texas Tech University in Lubbock. She earned an M. Div. degree with a campus ministry emphasis in 1999 from Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, Kentucky, where she met Fred.

Fred and Stacy have two children, Levi and Madden.
