Jack & Celesta Rea

Dr. Jack and Celesta Rea serve as missionaries with OMS International in Hong Kong. Jack serves as the Dean of Wesley Graduate Institute and Celesta is involved in evangelism.

Jack comes to this position with a wealth of experience and learning throughout his career as a pastor and layman. After a few years in the pastorate, Jack and Celesta served for five years with the Friends Foreign Mission Board in Taiwan. Jack then became General Superintendent of the Rocky Mountain Yearly Meeting, a six-state area based in Colorado Springs. From there he became the VP of Administrative Affairs at the Houston Graduate School of Theology, and then for the last four years Jack and Celesta have been involved in professional finance.

His experiences and studies have also given him an opportunity to publish. He has been editor of Traveling Minute, and Philos; contributing editor of The Evangelical Friend and The Church in Taiwan; contributing author of Gospel Monthly; and author of “Evangelizing Taiwan Chinese College Students’” article in the book Unreached Peoples ‘81.

Jack received his BA in Religion/Psychology from George Fox College, Newberg, Oregon; then went to Asbury Theology Seminary where he received his M.Div in Pastoral Ministry. In 1977 he received his D.Min in Church Administration from Ashland Theological Seminary, Ashland, Ohio.

They have two grown children, Sue Rea living in Ohio, and Sam Rea in Texas.
