Joel & Sarah Purcell

Joel and Sarah Purcell have been SIM missionaries since 1984. Together they conduct a dual ministry of evangelism/church planting and pastor training.

Because of the scarcity of Christian literature in Peru, Joel and Sarah initiated the Pastors' Book Set project in 1996. The aim of this project was to provide a basic theological library of 23 books to 3,750 pastors throughout Peru. The project included 3-day training conferences for the church leaders. At the end of the conference, they handed out the book sets. In 2001, two follow-up conferences were held with a focus on renewal/revival and 5000 pastors and church leaders participated.

Now based in The Woodlands, Joel is on staff with SIM, where he is soon to take over as the International Literature/Media Director. He is also promoting strategic projects for SIM, which seek to impact in a positive way the Body of Christ worldwide.
