Letter from Senior Pastor Martin Nicholas

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Have you ever noticed how a team of people can accomplish more than a single individual? Whether it is work responsibilities, a household chore, tasks in the yard or a community project, people engaged together in a common goal and committed to one another seem to prosper and succeed.

So it is with the church, the body of Jesus Christ, that God has entrusted with the sacred ministry of showing his love to the world. God’s power abounds in strong and significant ways in the community of faith.

When we share our time, our talent, and our treasure in generous portions, people around us notice and the church becomes the irresistible influence God created us to be. Generosity is the key. God gave his love for us through amazing and generous grace, and whenever we express generosity through our gifts, we are more like God.

Let me encourage you to continue reading our devotional book, Generosity by Gordon MacDonald, and to pray along with your family of faith the Wesleyan Covenant Prayer. Also, be in prayer about your financial commitment on Loyalty Sunday, January 24. Your generous response can help enable the church to prosper in its mission and ministry.

Remember, we can do great things for God and you are a critical and important part of our life together.

Blessings,

W. Martin Nicholas
Senior Pastor
