What is worship? This question seems to be asked and discussed more than any other today in the Christian church. As the world grows smaller through the internet, international travel, forms of media and other advances in communication, Christians are being exposed to a variety of forms and styles of worship which seem natural in one part of the world but strange and exotic in another. Also, styles in music are finding expression in the church in America in a greater and wider degree of diversity. Even the architecture surrounding the worship environment is changing in today's culture.
While the topic receives a large amount of attention, study and conversation, one truth remains the same. Our eternal and unchanging God created each and every human being with the desire and capacity to worship. We need to worship just as we need to breathe and if we do not worship God who has been revealed in Jesus Christ, then we will inevitably substitute something other than God for God.
Let me invite you to worship with us this Sunday as we focus our hearts and minds on God. I believe David said it best in Psalm 34, "Glorify the Lord with me; let us exalt His name together."
