

About Discovery Class
The Discovery Class, which began in 1986, is made up of singles and couples in the 50 and over age range. The class mission statement is to "discover" a relationship with Christ through study of God's Word and participation in service to others.
What We are Studying
We study various books of the Bible and contemporary Christian literature. Our present study uses Dr. James Moore's book, "When You Are A Christian the Whole World is from Missouri."
Missions that the Discovery Class Supports
The Discovery class supports a variety of missions of Sugar Land Methodist including:
- Preparing and delivering Christmas boxes to the Seafarers Center at the Port of Houston
- Faith and Practice Medical Mission in Guatemala with both financial support and packaging vitamins to be sent there
- School Bus Express
- Giving Tree
- Katy Brock
- Scholarships and financial support for church members as needs arise
Social Activities
The Discovery class hold many social opportunities throughout the year including our annual White Elephant Party, quarterly Sunday brunches, pot luck suppers and a monthly ladies Birthday Club.
